The Piqnic are a Japanese shoegaze band formed in 2013 and based in Shizuoka, Japan. Their music is gothic dark shoegaze, which reminds you The Horrors, but it also contains emotional expressions that Japan uniquely has, leading you to feel Scandinavian post rock like Sigur Ros. Aesthetic but also destructive, roar but also silence, The Piqnic are a rare newcomer that has two opposite elements at the same time. Although they’ve been active for only two years, they’ve already self-released two EPs, ‘Saoirse’, ‘I Can’t Breathing’, and they run their own irregular nights.

Furrow

Furrow are a 2-piece from West Felton, UK, comprised of Richard Cartwright and Thom Snell, using effects loops and experimental noise to create layered sounds underpinned with lilting rhythms and distorted melodies taking inspiration from their rural surroundings. After a string of self-released cassettes, Furrows' debut record titled 'West Felton' was released in August 2014 on vinyl via Bleeding Gold Records.

you can listen to a few tracks from the album from the links below:

compared with their previous two eps, which were hugely influenced by the indie music from the west, japanese avant-garde has been the main influence on this brand-new album. it has led the album to have an identity and uniqueness as a japanese band, in keeping their own roots, containing two opposite elements "stillness" and "motion".

you wish to hold naive and fleeting sentimental hopes in the violent darkness as maddening noise and chaos, pieces of ephemeral glassworks that cannot become kaleidoscopes.

1. ArA
2. hebi

DRUGON

DRUGON

DRUGON are a psychedelic rock band composed by Mani Neumeier, the leader of one of the most important Krautrock bands, Guru Guru, and a member of Acid Mothers Guru Guru, as a drummer, Mandog's Keiichi Miyashita, a guitarist of Damo Suzuki (ex. Can) and a member of Godman, which was formed by Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple), as a guitarist, and Takayuki Enomoto, a former member of Mandog, as a bassist.
in 2004, Miyashita and Enomoto joined Mani Neumeier's japan tour after they were asked by the promoter of the tour, Captain Trip Records. after that, Neumeier asked them to play live together again as a result of performing well while on tour, leading them to form DRUGON. they performed live at several places including Tokyo Tower's Wax Museum, which was popular for its impressive collection of Krautrock waxworks including Mani Neumeier, himself. in march 2014, during Mani Neumeier's japan tour, DRUGON resumed being active for the first time in 9 years to prepare for this first ever release.
