the piqnic become qujaku & announce new ep + uk tour

The Piqnic have decided to change their name into Qujaku from 1 April 2016.

The band have announced that a brand new 200 limited EP, 'KEIREN', the first recording under Qujaku, will be released exclusively by So I Buried Records on 12 May 2016, when their UK tour starts (see below). This EP contains two long-length tracks with more than 7 minutes each and will be released on vinyl for the first time in their career. Only in Japan, it will also be released on CD by Fifty One Records from the middle of June.

Their roaring psychedelic from their last release, the debut album 'ZyouK', has got more savage and new electric sounds have led the band to be solider and deeper in the EP.
The feast in the musically unexplored country is dark, deep and full of insanity. Dance.

Also, it is confirmed that the band will tour across the UK to celebrate the release. The tour contains 5 shows including their first appearances of music festivals, Focus Wales 2016 and Raw Power Festival.

Tour Dates:
Thu 12 May Wrexham / Central Station (Focus Wales 2016)
Wed 18 May York / Fulford Arms
Thu 19 May Manchester / Islington Mill
Wed 25 May London / DIY Space For London
Sat 28 May London / The Dome (Raw Power Festival)

Qujaku (ex. The Piqnic) are a Japanese psychedelic band formed in 2013 and based in Shizuoka, Japan. Their music is gothic dark shoegaze, which reminds you of The Horrors, but it also contains emotional expressions that Japan uniquely has, leading you to feel Scandinavian post rock like Sigur Ros. Aesthetic but also destructive, roar but also silence, Qujaku are a rare newcomer that has two opposite elements at the same time. They released their debut album, 'ZyouK', which was influenced by Japanese avant-garde, from So I Buried Records in October 2015, heading to deeper psychedelia.
